Dark Sky Freeway

I've been a big fan of Freeways since I first heard their demo back in 2017. At the time, I was just hoping that the band would continue releasing new material because they held such promise, and it would have been a tragedy to see them break up too soon. When I heard that they had their second album coming out this year, I could not have been more excited for it.
Freeways might be newer band out of Canada, but they nail that late 70's and New Wave Of British Heavy Metal rock vibe. With two 7 inches, and two albums under their belts, I don't know of anyone today that does it better. I just love the smooth hard rock sound of this band so much, and while I don't reach back to my 70's and hard rock collection very much right now, this second album from Freeways is getting plenty of attention.
Overseas shipping to make sure that I got my hands on the limited colored vinyl, but I love this band too much to care about insignificant things like money.
I'm not happy with this kind of gold vinyl, but the extras of the patch, sticker and postcard are a nice touch.
With each release, the band has had a limited patch included with their new record. I'll never do anything with these, but I'm excited to have all four of them.

Spark Eliminator

One of the best heavy rock bands to emerge over the past five years or so has to be Freeways. The perfect blend of 70's hard rock in the vein of Thin Lizzy, and the driving rhythms from the melodic side of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. As far as I'm concerned, the band is perfect.
Spark Eliminator is the band's third release after their debut 7 inch, Cold Front, and their album, True Bearings, from last year. Two more songs that are so smooth that I've instantly fallen in love with them. Everything this band has released has been gold. Give me more because I can't get enough.
Green vinyl was limited to 150... and the cool thing here is unlike some labels that press about ten different colored vinyl option, here you get either the limited green or the standard black... which makes this colored vinyl feel a bit more special.
I picked up Die Hard editions for both Cold Front and True Bearings that included a nice looking patch, so I was obviously going that route with the Spark Eliminator 7 inch as well. These things look so great, and will be stored with the record and tucked away where no one will see them again.

Freeways Bearings

That demo that Freeways released back in 2017 blew me away with how great it was, so when I saw that the band was finally releasing their first album this year, I was stoked.

Out of the Great White North of Canada, Freeways play an excellent style of 70's rock, and that first demo sounded heavily influenced by Thin Lizzy. That inspiration isn't as obvious on the new album, True Bearings, but this record still hooks me hard.

True Bearings was one of my more anticipated releases this year, and it does not disappoint in the least. The riffs are heavy and the melodies smooth...I've been giving this album repeat spins since it has arrived.

When I preordered the record back in February, I went for the Die Hard pressing that included a patch and keychain because I love little collectibles like this.

150 pressed for the Die Hard edition on beige colored vinyl.

Freeway Mad

The demo from Freeways was one of my favorite surprises from 2017. They made a nice climb in my Best of 2017 list, but it wasn't until the start of the new year that the vinyl pressing finally arrived. Good thing too, because the cassette tape release just wasn't going to cut it for me.

These three songs have a great Thin Lizzy vibe, and fit perfectly playing back to back with the new High Spirits from last year. Those two records are so smooth, I can get hooked into spinning them for days.

Damn, I need more songs from Freeways.

Limited to 100 pressed on blue vinyl, and it comes with a sweet looking patch.
