Youngblood Final Pressing

The past couple of years have seen me cutting way back on buying multiple pressings for new Hardcore records. This year though...those old habits are sneaking back in every now and then. One of the labels that I'm still a sucker for is Youngblood, and when they posted some "final pressings" for a couple of their releases, I was adding them to my cart like an addict having a relapse.

The 7 inch that Youngblood released a few years ago from Disengage is great. The damn thing is only 5 minutes long, but it is still pure Hardcore fury. I had no problem adding another copy to the collection.

On paper, I absolutely love No Tolerance. They play fast and angry, and are unapologetically straight edge...everything that I look for in a Hardcore band as I celebrate my 48th birthday. Still, I find that I just never really reach for their records, and I'm not sure why that is. Someone needs to reach out to me weekly with a reminder that says "Listen To More No Tolerance".

Re-engage

I might not be paying very close attention to new hardcore releases this year, but it is still a safe bet that I'll be jumping at anything that Youngblood releases. This label, along with React, are probably the only two hardcore labels that I will still follow religiously.

I've always liked Disengage, so this purchase was a no-brainer. Still, given my metal state of mind, I didn't expect to listen to it regularly. Six songs in five minutes, hardly seemed like it was going to be enough to really chew on. Much to my surprise, along with Aggression Pact and Public Suicide, the new Disengage is getting regular spins on my iPod.

Disengage Expressions

When Disengage released their first 7 inch, back in 2010, I didn't take much notice at first. I gave it a couple of spins, and while I thought it was good, it didn't really knock my socks off. I'm not sure what my problem was...maybe I was listening to too much Dio at the time...I don't know, but a few months later I was LOVING that Disengage record. When the new LP dropped just before the end of 2011, there was no doubt that it would make my Top 10 List for the year.

12 songs in a little over 13 minutes. This record blasts in and out quicker than Break Down The Walls, and leaves you with just as big of a smile. Destined to be a modern day Straight Edge classic.

This was a split release between Back To Back and Triple B. 120 pressed on white, and 880 pressed on black vinyl.
